The 2019 Central CHRIE Conference will have refereed presentations by participants in the form of stand-up as well as poster presentations. Educators, industry professionals, and graduate students are invited to submit entries for consideration.

Call for Papers/Posters

Paper and Poster Information

  1. Participants may submit the following:
    1. Completed paper (1,500 words maximum) for a stand-up presentation
    2. Work-in-progress paper (1,000 words maximum) for a poster presentation
  2. Submissions are due by January, 4, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time USA (CST)
  3. Acceptance notification will be sent to authors no later than January 25, 2019
  4. Submission topics include:
    1. Consumer behavior in hospitality
    2. Consumer behavior in tourism
    3. Destination marketing
    4. Education
    5. Finance and economics
    6. Human resources and leadership
    7. IT adoption and application
    8. Lodging management and service quality
    9. Management
    10. Marketing
    11. Meetings and events
    12. Restaurant and food service
    13. Tourism and sustainability
  5. Submission is electronic, via EasyChair

Paper Submission Guidelines

  1. Page 1: Title and 100-word abstract; author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included in any part of the paper
  2. Remaining pages: 1,500 words maximum, in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references
  3. Participants are required to save a research paper in PDF document and upload it to the EasyChair system
  4. Formatting guidelines:
    1. Margins should be 1-inch on sides, 1-inch on top and bottom
    2. Font: Times Roman, 12-point
    3. All text will be double spaced
    4. Tables, figures, and references must not exceed three (3) pages in total

Poster Submission Guidelines

Please be sure to follow all submission guidelines; no exceptions will be made, and submissions will be rejected for not following these guidelines. Posters MUST be formatted as follows:

  1. Page 1: Title and 100-word abstract; author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included on any part of the paper
  2. Remaining pages: 1,000 words maximum, in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references
  3. Margins should be 1-inch on sides, 1-inch on top and bottom
  4. Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, and all text will be double spaced
  5. In addition, tables, figures, and references must not exceed three (3) pages in total

Paper and Poster Submission Review Process

All submissions must be original and not been published (or sent for publication) elsewhere.

Once submitted, all submissions will undergo a double-blind review process.

Submissions judged to have outstanding merit by the conference paper review committees will receive best paper or best poster designation.

Paper/Poster Submission and Notification Timeline

  • January 4, 2019: Online paper/poster submission closes at 11:59 CST
  • January 25, 2019: Notification to authors of accepted papers/posters
  • February 8, 2019: Final revised paper/poster due

Note: All papers/posters are to be submitted online via EasyChair
